Deceased Classmate: John Charles Seagren
Date Of Birth: 08-29-1946
Date Deceased: 07-14-2019
Age at Death: 72
Cause of Death: Heart failure
Classmate City: Poway
Classmate State: CA
Classmate Country: USA
Was a Veteran: Yes Navy
Survived By: Barbara Sindelar Seagren (wife), daughters Marie and Karen and four grandchildren. Also two brothers and a sister, Tom Seagren, Jim Seagren and Lynda Seagren Young who are all HHS grads.

Written by John's wife, Barbara: John was a homebody and hadn't been outside of California (except for Navy service) until I introduced him to RV camping and foreign train travel. After the Navy, he returned to college where he led his senior team project, then spent his career in the computer field. He was just finishing transferring files to his new built-from-scratch desktop computer when he died. He enjoyed buying tools saying, "You need the right tool to do a perfect job," and became a skillful woodworker. His children and grand-kids slept in bassinets and cradles John built, He also volunteered at Poway's community theater where he headed up the crew to convert an old Elks Club into a working theater. His calm demeanor and attention were central to getting city permits and ADA clearance. John was a favorite with his daughters, nieces and nephews. After helping chaperone a school field trip, he received letters from the students saying such things as, "Dear Mr. Seagren, You play better than a 4 year old." He and I became honorary grandparents to neighborhood children who had none. Until his death, local kids gathered in John's garage to "help" with projects and listen to his funny stories. John was a man of integrity and quiet strength. He is missed.
