Duane passed away peacefully at his home in Albuquerque, NM on December6, 2010 after bravely fighting lung cancer for a year.  He grew up in Bonita, CA and lived in San Diego County most of his life.  He and his wife, Val retired in 2008 and moved to New Mexico.  They extensively traveled and he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966-1970 and was mostly stationed in Germany.   He owned Southland Four Wheel Drive in National City, CA for nine years.  He managed two sporting goods stores and was a sporting good buyer.  Duane loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, nature and gardening.   He loved adventure and lived life to the fullest.

His family and friends will remember him most for his intelligence, his knowledge, sense of humor, love of life, and his ability to overcome challenges.   Duane is survived by his wife Val, his parents: Quentin and Hilda Aubol of Bonita: borthers Gary and Harley.
